Who is responsible

I am Danae Maniatis, an independent adviser based in Italy. I am the controller of the personal data described on this page. You can reach me through the enquiry form on this site.

What this site collects

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no tracking scripts or advertising trackers. My web host counts page visits from its own server records, without cookies. The fonts and images are served from the site itself, so opening a page sends nothing to any other company. My web host, Netlify, necessarily processes your IP address and basic browser information in order to deliver the pages.

The enquiry form

If you send an enquiry, I receive what you type into the form: your name, your email address, your organisation and role, and what you tell me about your work, its timing and its funding. Netlify also records the IP address and browser details of the device the form was sent from. I use it to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to prepare a proposal. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation). You are not obliged to give me these details, but without your name and email address I cannot reply. I make no automated decisions about you.

Where it goes

The form is handled by my web host, Netlify, Inc., in the United States. Netlify checks each submission for spam using the Akismet service, stores it, and sends it to me by email. My mailbox is hosted by Microsoft. Netlify, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long I keep it

I delete submissions from Netlify within 30 days of receiving them. I keep the email for as long as our conversation or our work together requires.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it or to restrict how I use it, to receive it in a portable format, and you can object to its use. Write to me through the enquiry form on this site. You also have the right to complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
